Statement of Philosophy

I really enjoy the time with the children and believe childhood should be magical and memorable and this is the time to start a love of learning. I use a play-based approach to education and I strongly believe that every child is unique in their own way.

In order to provide a loving, caring, positive and safe environment through play-based learning activities, such activities must be welcoming and inclusive of all cultures, nationalities and family situations. I will help children to develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals.

My aim is to provide a positive environment through play that will promote their optimal development at a time when they are in a critical period of their development including social, physical, emotional and intellectual.

In relation to the children, I believe in a diverse educational program that reflects both group and individual needs and interests through observation and evaluation because I know that every child is an individual with their own style and pace of learning and growing so I provide highly positive experiences that encourage and promote learning and development.

I believe in the importance of role models for children and I aim to be a positive role model for all the children. I always ensure that my behaviour, attitude, value and language should be appropriate while interacting with all the children, families, parents as well as with other staff members.

I believe, when working with families, I want parents to understand that they are the most important aspect of their child’s life and education. I have the responsibility of explaining programs to parents as well as understanding and respecting the diverse background of each family and expectations of the parent about the education for their children. Parental involvement in a program can cultivate a strong relationship between parent and child, parent and teacher as well as teacher and child.
