My Inspiration:
My inspiration for working in childcare was watching my mum, my sister and sister-in-law all work in a childcare centre and telling me stories of how fun it was working with the children. I love building relationships and connections with the children and families and seeing the children walk out the doors happy at the end of the day.
My Interests:
Camping, beach trips, 4WDing, and reading.
What is your spirit animal and why?
My spirit animal would be a lioness as they are fierce but also have a gentle loving side when it comes to looking out for their cubs and other cubs in the pride.
Statement of Philosophy
I believe that every child is unique and a person who is to be treated with respect, empathy, and dignity. My role as an Educator is to nurture all children and make them feel safe and secure. As a childcare Educator I am also responsible for providing the children with a positive learning experience and strive to be a role model for the children that I come into contact with.
Children are capable of expressing themselves in many ways of learning including literacy, and the creative arts. I believe learning is happening all the time and is interwoven through all developmental domains. These include physical, socials/ emotional, cognitive and communication. A great start in life for every child is being surrounded by language, enjoyment of story times, art and forming great bonds with their Educators.
As an Educator I will value and develop each child’s skills, interests, strengths, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning. I believe children also learn trough play, this is why I believe it is particularly important to provide them with stimulating experience that will further their development.
I strive to ensure that all children feel that they are getting the individual attention and comfort they require. From this, I believe great this can happen.
