Statement of Philosophy
I believe that as an Early Childhood Educator I am responsible for providing young children with a safe, positive and enriching learning environment where each child is given the opportunity to feel supported and encouraged in their learning journey.
I believe that each child is an individual and as an educator, I will value, respect and develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning. I will support each child’s individual needs as well as their emotional, social, cognitive, physical, and spiritual development.
I believe that children learn through play. I will provide opportunities for open-ended learning for children to explore, discover, create, problem solve and imagine.
I believe that respectful, caring bonds with children and their families are a vital foundation for a wonderful early childhood experience. Parents are the child’s most important teachers and are their first teachers. I believe that having a strong partnership with families will help enrich my understanding of each child, their unique knowledge and experience, and help maintain a healthy, ever-growing learning environment.
I want to be a strong role model for the children in my care and model these values by cultivating learning, honesty, compassion and integrity among my educational community.
